Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat Review

Hello!

I know it's been a while but I'm back with another travel post! I've been working on this post whenever I can (I mean when I'm not having a bad pain day), sorting out travel pictures always took me some time and my laptop has seriously becoming more and more aged, so I gotta be ultra patient when I work on my laptop too. I'll try my best to update the space here as I'm starting to get better in managing the pain.

I've heard so much good review about this heavenly resort located just 2 hrs+ away from the hustle of the KL city. I've always been a nature lover so we decided to finally to go visit this place in Ipoh.

A balcony to a lake view!

This is a space I love the most in the room, sadly with only less than 24 hours to spent, we didn't have the luxury of sipping on tea and read on this lovely balcony.

The Pool:

The swimming pool is naturally heated so it feels a little warm!

The Hot Spring:

Open hot spring overlooking to lake.

They have only 3 hot spring "tub"s for the guests to use. During my visit, we were lucky enough that the hot springs were never full, there's always at least 1 empty ''tub'' for us to hop in.

We couldn't stay in the hot springs for more than 30 mins, it was hot but it's nice overlooking the lake while relaxing in the hot water. Usually we'll go for a swim after or indulge ourselves with a fish spa.

The Wine Cellar/ Restaurant:

This is the fancy restaurant located inside a ''cave''. There are only 2 restaurants inside Banjaran and we had dinner at the other restaurant. We wanted to come here for a wine but guess what...the wine price was too expensive I thought it didn't worth it, so photo-taking it is!

There are some other activities we didn't participate, such as we were given 2 free tickets to the Lost World of Tambun. Overall we were dipping on the hot spring for 2 times, swam, walking around the nature exploring caves. I wanted to join yoga class but I was getting a little exhausted from all the exploring so at the end I didn't.

Overall for the price paid, I would rather take a flight to some island and exploring different culture. To be honest this place is more serene and much quieter than island but the activity area is rather small for me. I'd say if you really love the serenity, 1 night will be not sufficient for you as you'll busy exploring outside and dipping in hot springs.

Pros:
1. This place is surrounded by nature creations like amazing lakes, waterfalls, caves etc.
2. Good customer service.
3. Nothing to complain about the room, even the shampoo and conditioner was of good quality.
4. Free 2 tickets to the Lost World of Tambun.
5. Quiet and serene environment.
6. There are quite a few activities in Banjaran, wellness program i.e. massages, yoga, etc..., spa, holistic exercises, you may call to book after check-in. They were kind enough to provide us with 15 mins hot sauna.

Cons:
1. Expensive (our room costs about RM 1000 for a night).
2. Room is luxury but to be honest, for the price we paid we could get much better room on an island in Thailand.
3. Area is small and activities are limited (compare to an island).
4. We called buggy service to everywhere we go but there are limited buggy service after dinner time and during check-in/out time.
5. All the wellness program, spas, holistic exercises, acupunture are pricey, but they were kind enough to provide us with 15-min long free antioxidant restoration which is like a hot sauna (those sleeping on the hot floor kind of sauna) / Yoga, workout and meditation classes are free if not mistaken but we didn't have time to try out those.

Verdict:
Very impressed by the outdoor hot springs, the place is very peaceful and quiet as they limit the guests to stay in each villa. My suggestion is to stay at least 2 nights to fully enjoy the tranquility of the place but it can become quite pricey. Nice experience but personally I'd prefer a visit to an island with the money spent.

love, Emma

  1. Huahhh... the room is really nice so I guess RM1k is quite worth it? I think if I would to pay that money, I will really explore the entire place

    1. I did explore the entire place, it's like a mini forest with caves and lakes around the resort, the only thing I didn't do is to join their activities like yoga, etc...
