Koh Lipe Travelogue - 3D2N Itinerary & Travel Tips!

Hello!

I know it's been a while since my Koh Lipe trip but life has been so busy and hectic, and there are thousands of photos from this trip! I've been editing the pictures whenever I get the chance and I'm so happy that I'm now done!

We visited Koh Lipe, Thailand during the Labour Day holiday this year, it's called the "Maldives of Thailand".

I've blogged about 2 of the reviews of our stays:-

This post is going to be a summary of our 3D2N itinerary!

The Transportation

KL - Langkawi : Self-driving
Langkawi - Koh Lipe : Ferry

It was about 6 hours drive from KL - Langkawi, taking a plane will be an alternative.

There are plenty of car park around the Langkawi Jetty, we parked at a covered parking called YUSOFEE PARKING at RM 15/ day.

We then hopped on a ferry to our destination!

I was shocked when we arrived at the island, THERE IS NO LANDING PIER for the ferry! So they pick us up with a boat to the shore.

the cold and natural sea water to welcome us to the island!

Getting Around The Island

DSC01166
We mostly walk around the island as the island is quite small.

Sometimes we rent this motorbike taxi when we were too exhausted to walk (100 bath each ride)

and we rented this long tail boat all to ourselves!

yay all to ourselves!

The long tail boat could fit up to 8-9 person but if you're travelling in group, I would say 5-6 person renting the boat will gives you a comfort ride and it's budget friendly too. The regular price per person for sharing with other travellers cost about 1100 bath/person, but ours did not include any food.

We rent the boat from with the assistance of Mali Resort at the price of 1500 bath.

The Food

The food choice on the island is very limited. You could find all the food stalls on the street around the island; there are BBQ, Thai food, dessert etc.

Most of the time we randomly picked a restaurant to dine in, and the restaurant we love the most is this Madam Yoo Hoo!

Reasonable price and tasty & authentic Thai food!

Their food wasn't amazingly good but it's the most authentic and reasonable price among all the other restaurants that we've tried.

Smoothie is good too! (our fav are pineapple and mango smoothie)

Night time activity? Shop and eat!

Our island hopping was around 4 hours.

There are other packages but we opt for the 3-4 hour island hopping. Some packages include lunch/dinner and some other packages takes up much longer time. You can also include activity with glowing plankton at night!

Travel Tips:

1. Prepare sandals & carry light luggage as you'll be walking on the water upon arrivals!

2. Each traveller will be charged 200 bath for National Park Fee on the custom.

3. Renting private long tail boat provides more freedom and the time of island hopping/ snorkeling can be shorten.

love, Emma
